Quand j’avais à peu près 5 ans, je suis tombée amoureuse d’une statue d’Athena au Louvres. Les adultes autour de moi n’arrêtaient pas de me dire que c’était la déesse de la guerre mais je m’en moquais, elle était mon idéal féminin. Ce n’est que bien plus tard que j’ai appris qu’elle était aussi la déesse du savoir.
Bien que j’ai appris le latin au collège, je me sens un peu ignorante en mythologie. Il y a beaucoup de domaines dans lesquels mes connaissances ne sont que parcellaires et que je voudrais approfondir, donc je le gardais dans un coin de ma tête. Ces dernières semaines, j’ai remarqué que beaucoup de marques de lingerie donnaient des noms de déesses antiques à leurs collections, et après avoir donné des conseils à quelqu’un pour une séance photo boudoir inspirée de la mythologie, l’idée pour cette sélection m’est venue. When I was around 5, I fell in love with a statue of Athena in the Louvres. Adults kept lecturing me about the fact that she was the goddess of war, but I couldn’t care less, she was my ultimate role model at the time. It is only much later than I learned she was the goddess of wisdom as well.
Despite having learned Latin in middle school, I feel like my mythology knowledge is somewhat lacking. There are a lots of things I feel ignorant about and I want to explore, so I just kept it at the back of my mind. Over the past few weeks, I have noticed many brands naming lingerie collections after ancient goddesses and when I advised someone on a mythology-inspired boudoir shoot, the idea for this selection came to me.
