J’ai déjà été par deux fois à Gerberoy et il me tarde d’y retourner. Ce petit village rural en Picardie fût une inspiration pour le peintre post-impressionniste et habitant local Henri Le Sidaner. Se promener dans les rues fleuries de Gerberoy est comme un voyage dans le temps. Bien que le mois de Juin soit sans doute le meilleur moment pour visiter ce village, il reste magnifique toute l’année. Il est possible de séjourner sur place ou dans l’une des communes avoisinantes. Je recommanderais de voyager en voiture et de vous garer à l’entrée du village. Un de mes endroits préférés pour prendre le thé est L’Atelier Gourmand de Sarah et j’ai entendu des retours positifs sur le restaurant-jardin Le Jardin des Ifs.
Si vous avez la chance de visiter cet endroit merveilleux et encore relativement secret, il vous faudra une lingerie digne d’une romance champêtre. Prenez des imprimés fleuris, des blancs éclatants et de la toile de Jouy et voici ma sélection de lingerie romantique pour voyager, en rêve ou en réalité, dans le patrimoine français.
I’ve been to Gerberoy twice already and I am itching to go back. This small rural town in Picardy was an inspiration for post-impressionist painter and local resident Henri Le Sidaner. Wandering through the streets of this rose-filled village feels like a travel back in time. Although June is probably the best time to visit it, it remains gorgeous throughout the year. You can stay in Gerberoy or in one of the nearby towns, I would strongly recommend traveling by car and parking yours at the entrance of the town. One of my favourite places for tea there is L’Atelier Gourmand de Sarah and I have heard good things about the garden restaurant Le Jardin des Ifs.
If you are to visit this wonderful and still relatively secluded place, you will need lingerie fit for countryside romance. Think florals, crisp whites and toile prints and here is my selection of romantic lingerie for your dream or real journey into French heritage.
