Au début du Printemps, j’avais très envie de poser pour un nouveau shooting. Quand j’ai vu que Chloranamour, que je suivais depuis un moment, en offrait à tarifs réduits, j’ai sauté sur l’occasion et ai réservé une belle chambre dans la Maison Chanzy à Paris. J’ai lancé un appel à collaboration auprès des marques de lingerie qui me suivent et ai reçu des réponses positives de la part de Ivory Rose Lingerie et de Mischke Lingerie.

Ivory Rose m’a envoyé trois pièces: ce body, qui n’est malheureusement plus disponible, l’ensemble en dentelle lilas et le body noir en dentelle et en tulle. J’écris cet article car le body présenté ici reste indicatif de la qualité et de l’attention aux détails de la marque et car Ivory Rose pourrait décliner cette forme dans d’autres couleurs à l”avenir.

At the beginning of Spring, I was itching to do another photoshoot. When I saw that Chloranamour, who I had been following for a while, was offering discounted shoots, I jumped on the opportunity and booked a beautiful room in Maison Chanzy in Paris. I called for brands’ collaborations and was met with positive replies from Ivory Rose Lingerie and from Mischke Lingerie.

Ivory Rose sent me 3 items to review: this bodysuit, which is sadly not available anymore, the Lilac All Over Lace set and the Black Lace and Mesh Bodysuit. I’m going to review this padded bodysuit as it is still indicative of the brand’s quality and attention to detail and the brand might bring back this silhouette in another colour in the future.

Je suis Ivory Rose depuis ses débuts, et j’apprécie les prix abordables de la marque ainsi que sa gamme de taille, bien que je me pose des questions sur son éthique (la marque m’a assuré qu’elle suivait plusieurs conventions éthiques, ceci dit). La lingerie bonnets profonds bon marché est difficile à trouver et l’offre de Ivory Rose est une addition bienvenue au marché pour les petits budgets.

Quand j’ai du choisir les pièces sur lesquelles écrire, je me suis concentrée sur l’offre phare de Ivory Rose: les bodies, d’où cet article.

I have been following Ivory Rose since its launch, appreciating its affordability and its size range, although I do wonder about its ethics (the brand assured me they complied with various ethical guidelines, though). Cheap fuller bust lingerie is rare to come by and Ivory Rose’s offer is a welcome addition to the market for smaller budgets.
When it came to picking the styles I wanted to review, I decided to focus on Ivory Rose’s core offer: bodysuits, hence this review.

Ma commande est arrivée rapidement, bien emballée dans du papier de soie. Des trois pièces qui m’ont été envoyées, j’ai été surtout impressionnée par le body noir mais ce body m’a également beaucoup plu. Le design et le niveau de détail sont vraiment bluffants pour le prix de 21£. J’aime particulièrement les pièces de dentelle qui élèvent le pedigree de ce body, à mon sens.

Les bonnets sont faits de trois parties en mousse, offrant un bien meilleur maintien que s’ils avaient été faits d’une unique partie moulée, comme c’est souvent le cas des pièces bon marché. Comme le dos n’est pas très serré dans la mesure où c’est un 90 et que je fais habituellement du 85 voire du 80, les armatures ne sont pas tirées vers l’arrière et restent assez étroites, ce qui me va très bien. La construction des bonnets convient bien à une poitrine projetée. Mon seul problème avec la partie soutien-gorge est que l’armature est un peu trop haute au niveau de l’aisselle pour moi.

My order came quickly and was well wrapped in branded tissue paper. Out of all three items, I was most impressed with the black bodysuit but the bodysuit of this review came close second. The design and detailing are really impressive for the price point of £21. I particularly like the lace panels, which really elevate the piece in my opinion.

The cups are made of three foam parts, making them a much better fit than if they had been made of a single moulded part. Since the band is not particularly tight, being a 34 on my usual 30-32 frame, the wires are not pulled taught and remain quite narrow, which suits me. The construction of the cups allows for quite a bit of projection as well. My only qualm with the bra part is that the wire is a bit high for my liking.

Contrairement à ce mon expérience habituelle avec les bodies, le corps de ce body est en fait un peu trop longue et large pour moi. D’habitude, j’ai du mal à trouver une bonne coupe pour ma taille et mes hanches mais avec cette pièce, il me reste pas mal de place. J’ai habituellement besoin de prendre du 90 pour les pièces type body ou guêpière, mais ici je pense qu’un 85I ou même un 80J (malheureusement pas offert par la marque) auraient mieux convenu.

La fermeture à l’entrejambe est plus à l’avant que ce dont j’ai l’habitude, ce qui est plutôt pratique, mais le fond est un peu trop étroit à mon goût, même pour un string.

Si je devais résumer cet article, je dirais que pour une jeune marque, la partie soutien-gorge et le design de l’ensemble sont plutôt aboutis, mais que le corps mériterait d’être légèrement revu et corrigé. Ceci dit, pour le prix, le produit est plus que satisfaisant, d’autant qu’il a très bien supporté les lavages en machine jusqu’à présent.

Unlike my usual bodysuit experience, the body part of this piece is actually too long and big for my frame. Usually, my torso proves a tricky fit but in this case I have plenty of room, and some more. I normally need a 34 in full body items but in this case I think I could have gotten away with a 32G, or even a 30GG, the latter of which is sadly not offered by the brand.

The closure is more at the front than what I am used to, which proves quite handy, but the gusset is a bit too narrow for my taste, even considering the thong shape of the back.

If I had to sum this review up, I would say that for a young brand, the bra part and the overall design are very impressive but the body part needs a few tweaks. That being said, for the price tag, the product is very satisfactory, plus it has held up to machine washing just fine.
