House of Flying Daggers-Inspired Lingerie / Lingerie inspirée par Le Secret des Poignards Volants

Je dois reconnaître que je ne connais pas grand chose au cinéma chinois. En fait, à cause de mes problèmes d’attention, je ne m’y connais pas si bien en cinéma en général qu’il n’y parait. J’essaie de m’améliorer sur ce point, et dès que je suis en France, je regarde Arte autant que possible. C’est ainsi que j’ai regardé Le Secret des Poignards Volants et ça a été une belle découverte. Ce n’est peut être pas un chef d’oeuvre, mais ce film est très prenant et sa photographie doit être l’une des plus belle que j’ai jamais eu le plaisir de voir. Entre cela et le manque de représentation de la culture asiatique en lingerie (autrement que par appropriation culturelle), cette sélection s’est imposée à moi comme une évidence et j’espère que vous l’apprécierez!

I have to admit I am painfully illiterate in Chinese cinema. Well, let’s be real, due to my short attention span, I am not as knowledgeable on cinema in general as I may appear to be. I do try to improve myself, and whenever I am in France I’ll watch pretty much anything that Arte, the intellectual TV channel, throws at me. This is how I watched House of Flying Daggers and I am so glad I did. Although it might not be a masterpiece, it’s extremely engaging and the cinematography has to be one of the most gorgeous I have ever had the pleasure of watching. Between this and the little representation of Asian culture in lingerie (apart from cultural appropriation), this selection felt like it had to be done, and I hope you will enjoy it!
